BOTSWANA-ZIMBABWE TOUR
Expectations of this trip
This is the best way to discover the Okavango: in a local canoe, the mokoro, and in a small aluminum boat with a bottom is quick to slip everywhere between reeds and islets.
After passing Victoria Falls, there is a beautiful lodge in Hwange National Park. After seeing the elephants in Chobe, you'll find yourself facing Chief's Island, the large island in the heart of the LTA, nestled in the marshes, on the banks of a river that itself began in the arms of the Okavango River and disappeared into the Kalahari sands. Reeds, papyrus, clear water, and birds galore—experience two days on the lake in all its beauty.

Arrive in Victoria Falls in the early afternoon. Complete Zimbabwean police formalities. Visa payable locally: USD 30 per person. Meet and greet by our representative and transfer to your hotel, Lokuthula Lodges, an extension of the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
The hotel is located above a watering hole, overlooking the Zambezi plain. See full description—family room accommodation. See the description.
Victoria Falls is a pretty little town on the Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) side of the falls. Across the street are Zambia and the city of Livingstone. The hotel offers free shuttles to the city center. You can enjoy the afternoon relaxing in the sun, but you can also go rafting, take a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, go on an elephant safari, or fly over the falls by plane, helicopter, or microlight. The range of activities is endless: a huge zip line above the canopy or one of the most spectacular bungee jumps in the world are offered daily. Maybe tomorrow?

Overnight at Lohkutula Lodges or similar
Forget the trip, with little or no jet lag, and after a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, you'll be in great shape to visit the falls. Our guide will take you on a private tour of the falls, a natural wonder.
Water plunges from a height of 100 meters into the gorge. Depending on the season, the flow rate is enormous: up to 750 million liters per minute! Water vapor constantly surrounds the falls. As a result, an astonishing vegetation has formed, featuring plants never seen anywhere else in the country. This visit will take you all morning. For the afternoon, see the various excursions offered on day 2.
Our guide will help you make your choice. You can also enjoy the hotel pool.

Overnight at Lokuthula Lodges or similar.
Departure after breakfast for a private transfer of approximately 2 hours via a very beautiful tarmac road in excellent condition towards the South and the Hwange National Park (pronounced "Ouang Gay").
After arrival and installation at the lodge, the rest of the day will be free, with a night at the Hwange Safari Lodge.
Hwange National Park is the largest park in Zimbabwe, with an area of 14,620 square kilometers, as large as Northern Ireland.
It is located in the northwest corner of the country, with Botswana bordering the park to the west and the railway line to the east. The park is about an hour south of Victoria Falls.
It begins with an early wake-up call (5 a.m.), a quick breakfast (cereal, toast, coffee, tea), and departure for a full day of safari.
Hwange National Park: This park corresponds to the Botswana parks across the border. Established long ago, in 1928 to be precise, it is the largest park in Zimbabwe. It contains considerable wildlife, with more than 100 species of mammals and 400 birds. The 19 largest herbivores and the 9 big cats are present. Apart from the almost absent rhinoceroses, the whole range of predators and their game can be found here. The park contains the largest population of wild dogs in Africa. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, elephants, and buffalo are present daily. Add the elegant giraffes.

As for antelopes and their various varieties, they are counted in the thousands.
Departure after breakfast towards the Botswana border. (private transfer) Formalities (quick). Upon arrival and installation at the Chobe Safari Lodge or similar your room, your very comfortable, will be on the edge of the river (river room).

You are here on full board with 2 excursions included: 1 4x4 safari in the national park, 1 cruise not to be missed on the Chobe River.
Please note that drinks are not included (except mineral water during safaris).
Chobe National Park: Botswana's third largest park, it's also the oldest. In 1932, the area was declared off-limits and protected. Chobe is an elephant paradise. Botswana is home to the largest population of African elephants: 207,000. Most of them are found in Chobe year-round. Here, the pachyderm isn't expanding; quite the opposite! The sheer number of animals is even starting to pose serious problems for the vegetation. During the high season, the riverbanks are black and gray, with thousands of elephants bathing, drinking, and splashing around. Elephants are excellent swimmers, and they go from one side of the river to the other, their offspring in a single file. An exceptional spectacle. Chobe also contains the full range of animals in the region, from slender impalas to lions, cheetahs, leopards, and wild dogs. The only thing missing is the rhinoceros.
After a good breakfast, head to the airport (5 minutes) and take a plane taxi to Xakanaka in the heart of the Okavango.
Flight duration: 60 minutes. The flight is at low altitude and is a magnificent excursion in itself. Upon arrival, transfer to Okuti Camp or similar on the banks of the Maunachira River, part of the Okavango.
Okuti Camp is ideal for travelers; it is a mixed water and savannah camp, with boat and 4x4 excursions awaiting us.

The wildlife is exceptional, as are the birds, which all seem to have gathered together. You'll stay there full board, drinks included, and enjoy two daily excursions.
In the morning, after breakfast, take a morning safari before taking your flight to Maun (25 mins)
The flight to Johannesburg to your destination.
Because all good things must come to an end, it's time to say goodbye.
Note: If the flight between Delta and Maun on the last day is not available, we will do a morning safari to the airport.

Maximum travel time is 4 hours by road.
